Tuition exemption

Students who are recognized as having an outstanding academic record and as facing difficulty paying the tuition due to financial hardship can apply for a tuition exemption. Students deemed eligible for an exception based on a screening of their income and academic record may receive an exemption of all, one-half or 40% of the tuition.

It should be carefully noted that not all applicants are granted an exemption. Requests for a tuition exemption may be denied depending on the screening results.

Graduate school matriculation fee exemption

Students matriculating in one of the graduate schools who are recognized as having an outstanding academic record and as facing difficulty paying the matriculation fee due to financial hardship can apply for an exemption. Applicants deemed eligible for an exemption based on a screening of their income and academic record may receive an exemption of one-half of the matriculation fee.

It should be carefully noted that not all applicants are granted an exemption. Requests for a matriculation fee exemption may be denied based on the screening results.

Deferred paymant of matriculation fee

Students matriculating in Utsunomiya University who are recognized as having an outstanding academic record and as facing difficulty paying the matriculation fee can apply for deferred payment of the fee. Deferment of the matriculation fee payment may be granted for a certain period of time based on the results of the screening process.

It should be carefully noted that not all applicants are granted a payment deferment. Requests for deferred payment may be denied based on the screening results.

Scholarship programs

Utsunomiya University has several private-sector scholarship programs. International students who have an outstanding academic record, exemplary personal qualities and require financial aid may be eligible to receive a scholarship based on the results of the screening process. It should be noted that not all applicants are granted a scholarship.

  Full-time enrollment for a half-year: 267,900 yen
